Telecoms Graduate Leadership Programme

Telecoms Graduate Leadership Programme

Salary: Competitive  Location: Hertfordshire

Type: Full Time  Postal/Zip Code: UKH23

In 1998 something momentous happened – we sold our first mobile phone. That event started the ball rolling for our venture into the global telecoms market. And just five years later in 2003, we launched Tesco Mobile.

Just a later, we began providing broadband in the UK. Then, in 2005, we opened our first phone shop, and by 2010, we had hit 2.3 million customers, making us the fastest-growing mobile network in the UK, Central Europe and Asia. Skip forward to the present day, and we've won a host of awards, including Which? Best Mobile Service Provider. Our aim for 2013 and beyond is to grow our Tesco Mobile customer base from 3.5 Million to over 5 Million by 2017.

So, if you have drive, an innovative spirit and you'd love to help us make the mobile world simpler, better and cheaper for our customers, this programme will push all your buttons.

What will you be doing?
Your 12-month programme will run from September. After an induction, you'll run your own Phone Shop for a month in one of our stores. It's a great way to develop your managerial skills and get to know our business – the skills and knowledge you learn here will pay dividends as your career progresses.

After that, you'll join either our Commercial or Broadband teams – both are our biggest growth areas. This is where you'll learn the skills you need to help us grow even further, even faster. It could be you're negotiating with suppliers to help us get the next best mobile phone for the best price. You might develop a new strategy to attract more customers to our Broadband service. Whatever you're working on, you'll be helping to make a big difference not just to Tesco, but to all of our customers. And no matter which team you join, throughout the year you'll receive management and leadership skills training.

What are we looking for?
A 2:1 in any discipline and 300 UCAS points
A passion for innovation & problem solving
Effective analytical and decision making skills
Great communication skills
Drive and ambition
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask
The ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own
 A full UK driving license
