Global Academic publishes books, journals and digital resources for the research, professional and higher education markets.

The Office of Strategy Management (OSM) supports the Global Academic Business (GAB) to achieve its strategic objectives by assisting with the formulation, implementation, and integration of strategy throughout the business. A key function of the OSM is to support the successful delivery of the GAB portfolio, through programme and project management, project office, and business analysis activities.

The Senior Project Manager role involves:

project Management - the ability to successfully manage complex, cross-functional, business projects, following our standard methodology (based on Prince2) to ensure effective and efficient delivery
facilitation - bringing together cross-functional groups to identify requirements and opportunities
identifying initiatives - working with the business to look for opportunities to streamline processes and improve working practices
mentoring - assisting more junior project managers with their project management skills
The ideal candidate will be flexible, with a problem-solving approach, and proven experience of managing medium/large size business projects (either within a business function or within a programme/ project office). You will have a good understanding of project methodology (able to adapt it to suit needs) and be interested in helping others to follow processes in order to achieve our shared objectives.

You will enjoy working within a fast-moving team environment, and have the ability to manage your own workload & juggle priorities. You will be a confident and clear communicator, who enjoys working with people to identify and deliver project goals.

Essential:

knowledge and hands-on experience of working with an established project methodology (Prince 2 certification would be an advantage)
excellent organizational skills and techniques, able to manage your own time, project milestones and deadlines
ability to relate positively to and engage with a wide range of people
strong self-motivation and flexible team-player
excellent computing skills including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio
excellent oral and written communication skills
ability to move between projects and quickly gain an understanding of issues and priorities
