You will be given the opportunity to demonstrate your skills from the outset and be able to contribute to complex and dynamic technology environments that serve our global client-base.

You will receive constructive direction and feedback throughout each of your placements. Each placement period will end with a performance review as well as a formal presentation to the senior IT management team. On successful completion of the programme we will discuss your career development and decide on a position that best fits your strengths and preferences whilst also reflecting the needs of the business.

We take for granted that you have a passion for excellence and a desire to succeed in a highly competitive industry. We've tailored our training from within our European trading hub in London to provide Technology Analysts with classroom and on-the-job training.

This is an 18 month rotational programme, consisting of three 6-month rotations in the following areas:

Front Office
Operations, Risk and Finance
Infrastructure
Application Support
The objective of these rotations is to gain an understanding of how the individual IT teams function and how each of these work together to allow RBC Capital Markets achieve its business objectives.

Developing your knowledge
You will work with talented colleagues - some long time industry insiders, some newer to the industry - who share your passion to bring new ideas and skills to the table. An important aspect of the programme is mentoring. You will be assigned a senior mentor who will provide guidance at this crucial stage in your career. This mentor will be with you throughout your graduate programme, you will meet them regularly to discuss progress, issues and gain valuable experience and insights into the banking industry.

Areas of exposure
Business-aligned technology: application development, business analysis, testing or support roles for Fixed Income, FX, Futures, Equities, Money Markets, Rates and Credit from front to back-office in fast-moving markets and cutting-edge technologies
Infrastructure core areas including Networks, Telecoms, Wintel, UNIX, Databases, Storage and Information Security

Required:
A strong interest in financial markets
Technical skills (e.g. Java, C#, C++, databases, networks)
Team-working: ability to collaborate with your colleagues and learn fast
Details-oriented approach to your projects
Commitment and enthusiasm for solving complex problems with creative thinking
Preferred:
IT project experience in applications development or infrastructure
