We seek graduates with degrees in Engineering, (mechanical, electrical, software and especially electronics and microelectronics), physics, and computing science to join our graduate scheme in 2014 to help STFC deliver the very best science & engineering.
We have a variety of opportunities across a number of departments, RAL Space who have been involved in over 200 space missions and are at the forefront of UK Space Research. ISIS, an accelerator – based neutron source, which has changed how the world does neutron scattering research. Scientific Computing, provides large scale HPC facilities, computing data and infrastructure services. The Technology department provides advanced technology and engineering in support of both STFC funded activities and other high profile international projects.
Our graduates join a department working on exciting, often world leading, projects from day one. They are supported by a mentor and given the opportunity to attend a range of technical and non-technical training, including overseas conferences and our unique Tall Ships personal development program. They are also encouraged to broaden their skills by taking part in our outreach activities and by completing a placement in a different department. Graduates who have performed well in their jobs and their training are promoted on their second anniversary.
