Mechanical Workshop Technician
The appointment will be full time on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £32,375 - £39,132 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
The High Precision Design & Fabrication Facility provides specialist support for teaching and research in the two departments of Biochemical Engineering and Chemical Engineering. In particular the key role of the post holder will be to engage in the design and manufacture of novel experimental devices contributing to the development of new research and teaching initiatives in both departments.
The post-holder will need to work with postdoctoral researchers and academic staff in the timely delivery of equipment.
The post-holder must have an HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience and related skills and must be well versed in workshop principles. Having the ability to read engineering drawings is a key desired skill and experience with CAD/CAM and CNS would be invaluable. The successful candidate will be sufficiently reactive to be able to work from sketches and verbal instructions.
