Set in 1,231 acres of Oxfordshire countryside approximately one hour from London, Birmingham and Southampton. Heyford Park has a rich and colourful history and the maintenance of many of the buildings for future generations is of national heritage importance.
Heyford Park Management Company Limited, the host business, are responsible for the existing residential accommodation, including 315 let homes which are 97% occupied, with further planning for 763 new homes. Currently over 1,000 people work at Heyford Park within 2m square feet of lettable space. On site amenities include a sports centre, playing fields, church, community centre, nursery, mini supermarket and 24 hour security.
The role
This opportunity is offered over a period of 24 weeks with the potential for the successful candidate to be offered permanent employment at the end of the placement.
You will work closely with the Construction Director, providing general technical assistance in the delivery of a number of major capital expenditure projects, including infrastructure, new build and various refurbishment projects.
By undertaking the internship you will gain experience of project management on capital expenditure construction projects, along with the entrepreneurial experience of working in a start-up environment.
Skills required
You will be a recent graduate, having completed a surveying or construction management or engineering degree course.
Working with the Construction Director, you will need to be able to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as flexibility: this is a start-up team, and you will need to have good team working and interpersonal skills.
Ideally you will have some project management experience; however if not then you will be able to demonstrate that you have the personality and attitude to deal with the demands of major capital expenditure projects and their management.
