Graduate Mechanical Engineer (Newcastle)

£20k - £30k (DOE) + Bonus + Pension + Health + 25 days holiday & stat + Life Assurance

ATA Recruitment is working with a leading mechanical engineering business that has seen their business grow by 25% year on year over the past five years. In order to sustain this growth moving forward, my client is looking to strengthen their business by recruiting Graduate Mechanical Engineers in 2013 so they can train them up ready to be fully experienced Applications engineers within 3 years.

Getting the right skillset is key for my client, you must have a mechanical engineering background, you must be self-motivated, ambitious and have a desire to fulfil an engineering role where you will be responding to technical enquiries from both UK & International customers.

The role:

1. 100% of your role will be office based in the North East of England with up to 2 face to face client visits per month.

2. You will report directly to the Senior Application Sales Engineer supporting all business activities throughout the UK & EMEA.

3. You will also be responsible for costing's, ensuring the technical and commercial criteria is being met, liaising with the customers throughout this process on costing's and lead times, BOM's and adhering to project specifications.

4. You will also be responsible for estimating, product and technical support, sales support and managing client relationships.

5. There will be a high degree of calculating Heat & Mass Balances and Flow Calculations.

6. Cross selling and up selling additional services.

7. Direct customer contact.

8. Some Degree of Project Management - seeing the projects through from enquiry to factory acceptance.

9. Managing up to 4 projects at one time valued between £50,000 to £15 million.

Experience & background:

1. You must possess an ONC, HNC / HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering

2. A raw Mechanical Engineering graduate, ideally a minimum 1 years engineering work experience in a similar type role.

3. Confident, outgoing, bubbly personality, reliable and self-motivated.

4. Must be based North East England / Newcastle area.
