Senior Software Developer is required to join a small, dedicated team that build one of the worlds' leading search solutions for library catalogs serving over 60 million people worldwide.
They are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build the next generation of search technology. The job involve:
-Improve the website back end (C# / .NET)
-Building tools to make the search better
-Faceted search
-Search expansion by using structured data
-Building co-occurrences, fuzzy's, translations
-Building technology for advanced search
-Improving / optimizing the data ingestion pipeline
-Supporting the implementations and support team
-Help building infrastructure for the UI
To apply for this role you will be used to working in a sociable office environment and will be comfortable working in small teams in which you can have a lot of influence on technical choices and work without direct supervision. You will have strong programming abilities, and know C#, Delphi, or C++. Most of their focus is in .NET (C#). You have a degree in Computer Science, or equivalent, with a demonstrated knowledge of algorithms and patterns. Ideally you will also have an expertise in the field of search engines, have previously worked with library data, have experience with Agile / Scrum or have contributed to open source projects. Also experience with front end development (Javascript / HTML5 / CSS3 / Less) is a big plus.
