Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 annual salary 

Outsource UK Ltdis actively seeking to recruit a Principal Systems Engineer for a permanent role on behalf of a client.

The Job:

The purpose of the Principal Systems Engineer role is to join the growing System Engineer Department of our client. Working as part of a multi-disciplined team, the systems engineer will be involved at every phase of the product lifecycle but with a focus on initial requirement capture and system architecture design. 

Key Responsibility Areas 

The successful Principal Systems Engineer candidate will be responsible for the following: 

Requirements capture and derivation 

Involved in functional design and able to take responsibility for significant systems design decisions and sub-system level analysis tasks 

Manage changes to the solution/design while continuing to communicate the changes to the team 

Deliver to agreed performance targets 

Use technical expertise to solve problems, generate ideas and be pro-active within the team 

Support bid preparation and work closely with other key members of the team 

Liaise with Customer and Partner companies 

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge

The candidate must possess excellent communication and inter-personal skills, and the ability to interact with subject matter experts regarding a wide range of technical and operational topics 

Significant experience in developing systems architecture design, preferably with the EW domain 

Ability to develop innovative technical solutions, compliant with requirements within agreed programmes and timescales 

Substantial analytical and technical problem solving skills 

Sound understanding of the CONOPS analysis, Requirements Management, System Design Process (including System and Sub-System Specification) 

Ability to liaise with internal projects and other LoBs including external avionics companies 

Experience of working with Requirements engineering tools (DOORS), 

Mathematical analysis tools (Matlab/Simulink), system design tools (MODAF/UML). 

Experience gained within System Design/System Architectures
