Job description
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the successful PR & Marketing Executive will assist with the creation and execution of communications plans, support awareness-raising and reputation-building activities, use a range of tactics including though not limited to media relations, e-marketing, social media and events. This role supports our clients corporate portfolio of brands and products and you will constantly source and develop new content for e-newsletters, award submissions, websites and PR features, monitoring and researching relevant government, business, media and other news and information sources to identify €˜hot topics. This role is pivotal in ensuring all brand messages and image are represented accurately and consistently in content and collateral for use both inside and outside the company. Although there is a strong PR and communications focus the incumbent will also work across the full marketing mix as and when required. Specific duties: Quarterly scheduling and drafting campaign plans Telephone and/or internet research to identify PR coverage/feature opportunities, events, conferences and awards entries Day-to-day press office management: researching, copywriting and submitting press releases according to internal approvals processes Media relations supported by/managing the media database, distribution and reporting (Cision) Sourcing/writing and managing the distribution of content through social media Researching and copywriting a portfolio of client case studies Investigating speaking opportunities for CEO and senior team Investigating Award opportunities as well as drafting their submission Support to lobbying events/activities focused on promoting awareness of our clients brands and programmes at policy level Coordinating the production and distribution of enewsletters and other emarketing campaigns Coordinating events as required Proofing/reviewing marketing literature (email blasts, adverts, artwork, editorial, press releases etc) for all of our clients brand and/or programmes CRM database management (Daylite/YTKO2): benchmarking, cleansing, maintenance to improve the quality and consistency of data held and facilitate optimised use of data for campaigns against business objectives Investigate list performance and additional rental options Updating websites using content management tools Preparing quarterly PR reports Reporting on emarketing and social media campaign performance Monitoring and reporting on media activity and maintaining archives (cuttings) using Cision Experience: Minimum 3 years experience, preferably in a PR role targeting the public sector Degree with a strong PR or marketing bias Press office management Happy to work independently and as part of a team Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong copywriting and proofing skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy Desk research Able to work effectively with a wide range of people, including funders, partners, stakeholder groups, the wider public, journalists/the media and community organisations Experience or interest in social media Knowledge of CRM systems Strong IT skills Preferred: Background or training in PR, media and/or journalism Social media content development and administration CIM, IPR qualification or similar Personal attributes and qualities Enthusiastic, positive, investigative, thorough Open to learning Able to work effectively on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Calm under pressure!
