Based in our global head office in Bristol, we have an exciting opportunity to join our Group Information Systems (IS) team. The Infrastructure Security Architect is a new role within the Group IS Corporate Infrastructure Services (CIS) team which provides common and secure corporate-wide technical infrastructure services across the group.

With the increasing threat from virus infections and network intrusion, this role will provide leadership in developing strategies, standards and policies to protect the group infrastructure from potential hackers and other technological security breaches.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

• Definition and maintenance of an infrastructure security strategy and architecture for the Imperial Tobacco Group (ITG), resulting in Group IS Infrastructure Security Standards and Policies. Ensure the ongoing communication and clarity of these standards and policies to all sites across the globe, providing timely advice and guidance where required to ensure effective adoption.
• Perform regular security assessments and audits of the technical infrastructure (at a data centre and site level) to review the implementation of Group IS Infrastructure Security Standards and to assess the overall level of security protection. Where weaknesses or loopholes exist, ensure that remediation plans are in place and monitor progress to an acceptable conclusion.
• Perform regular network intrusion tests at a data centre and site level. Where weaknesses or loopholes exist, ensure that remediation plans are in place and monitor progress to an acceptable conclusion.
• Maintain a continuous and proactive focus on new or changing security threats, to ensure the evolution of the Group IS Infrastructure Security Standards and Policies, and to ensure ongoing group-wide protection from these new or changing threats.
• Monitor security technology trends and requirements and proactively counsel IS organizations across ITG (Local IS, Regional IS and Group IS CoEs) on opportunities to improve infrastructure security.
• Manage the delivery of Infrastructure Security related projects, either as a workstream within a larger infrastructure project or as a standalone implementation.
• Provide an advisory role to IS organizations across ITG (Local IS, Regional IS and Group IS CoEs) to assess the effectiveness and maturity of the security architecture when implementing new infrastructure technologies or business applications.
• Contribute ideas and activities into the development and overall effectiveness of the CIS team, by proactively proposing improvements to both the CIS organisation and service offerings.

To be successful in this role you will be a certified security professional with industry or vendor qualifications eg ISO2700x, CISSP, and will have with extensive experience of designing security architectures. You'll have significant knowledge of network and server security, including Firewalls, VPN, Anti-Virus, Vulnerability Management, etc. You'll be a proven self-starter who will take ownership of tasks and drive to completion and will have the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Strong relationship management, organisational and communication skills are essential for this role, as is the proficiency in spoken and written English. Due to the nature of the role, willingness to undertake frequent international business travel (20%) is an essential requirement.
