As our Lead Web Designer, we want you to take the lead. With our team. With our clients. With their requirements.

We are looking for a lead web designer with the creativity and talent to take projects from inception to completion, and the experience to bring our team and clients with you on that journey. This means you will have a demonstrated flair for creative digital design, as well as excellent pitching and presentation skills.

You'll be leading and liaising with junior design and development team members to define and deliver a creative vision. Your passion for the user's experience will cascade through our team.

Our modern and funky offices are based in Carlisle on the edge of the Lake District and Hadrian Wall countryside. Ideally we would prefer you to be close enough to access our offices, but we are also open to you working from home within the UK by arrangement.

Role Responsibilities:

• Creating a vision that ensures ease of client usability and a beautiful online experience that works across devices

• Delivering the design and production of a varied range of creative digital marketing work

• Keeping up to date with evolving style, practice and technologies

• Leading pitch presentations to assist winning new business

• Working closely with Developers to create experiences that deliver our clients vision

• Ensuring design is delivered efficiently within timescales and budget

• Mentoring junior staff and supporting the rest of the team when needed

Personal Specification:

Technical

• A solid understanding of web standards, user interface design, and accessibility

• Use of typography and grid systems

• Use of Web / digital marketing development process

• Knowledge of user centered design process and appropriate methodologies

• Use of modern Content Management Systems, formal design documentation, QA systems and design asset management processes and systems

• Ability to hard code XHTML / HTML5, CSS3, jQuery &JavaScript

• Ability to use LESS, Sass and SVG

Design

• 2+ years of visual design experience

• Web development experience in an agency environment

• Proven visual creativity and modern interface design
