The Post

The further development of our successful pest control services, improving commercial sustainability and service quality and the integration of Animal Welfare and Environmental Health / Enforcement Officers to work aligned to securing resolution of poor sanitary conditions, including drainage, pests and harbourage to deliver real and sustainable improvements in the residential conditions within the Borough.

You will have real opportunity to develop services that genuinely contribute to the quality of people’s lives. Your team has responsibility for the delivery of services of Pest Control, Animal welfare and includes an Environmental Health Team dealing with drainage and challenging sanitary health issues, including the root causes of large and complex Pest infestations.

The post also plays a major role in the Council’s approach to tackling Self Neglect, inputting to the process to deal with vulnerable persons and the resulting premises and neighbourhood issues.

The Person

You must be commercially minded to continue the development of our strong and successful Pest Control services and have the flexibility to manage the integration of Environmental Health / Enforcement Officers to work aligned to securing reduction in pests and harbourage. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference in terms of environmental improvements and meeting customer needs.

You will lead teams of multi-skilled professional and technical front line officers, utilising your understanding of Environmental health challenges, customer demand, and service delivery. You will empower your team and foster a culture of innovation, where ideas that improve service quality are embraced.

Are you an Environmental Health Officer or someone who has considerable experience in and knowledge of Environmental Health functions?
