Learning Support Assistant required for a September start in New Barnet to support autistic children.

We are looking for a SEN Learning Support Assistant to work with ASD / AUTISTIC secondary aged children, many who are of a vulnerable nature. The school is looking for an experienced LSA or SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a temporary ongoing basis full time for the whole academic year. Ideally you will have a proven track record of supporting pupils with ASD, EBD, mental health, PMLD, SLD, MLD and ADHD. Hays Education is working in partnership with this School, based in New Barnet, who cater for pupils with ASD difficulties. This school prides itself on ensuring all students are able to develop their self esteem, confidence and independence.

The right candidate will have an empathetic way; you will need to have an understanding of what is required for working with children of this nature. 

You must show the following:

* Passionate and have the ability to motivate children to reach their full academic potential 

* Must be able to engage pupils within education and help remove barriers to learning 

* Target orientated and determined to develop all children in your care 

* High standards for the pupils you are working with, have the ability to challenge students 

* Stand out from the crowd in terms of skill set, personal achievements, interests, or hobbies 

You will be working with a supportive team as a LSA working one to one or within small groups. The Head teacher is keen to use the skill sets of all of his staff, if you can offer any skills such as, out door Education, Music, Drama, Art, Dance, ICT or any other specialism we would be keen to hear from you.
