London, Oxford Street    At Selfridges we have a reputation for innovation – from our striking window displays to our magnificent Women’s Designer Galleries. But it doesn’t stop there. With marketing events, packaging, brand identity and internal communications, we need a constant flow of creative graphics. And as Creative Manager, that’s exactly what you will help to provide.
About the role
Heading up a talented team of graphic designers across varying disciplines, you’ll lead by example – offering a creative hands-on direction in the design and creation of innovative graphics that visually inspire and excite customers across our fabulous stores. That means making sure every piece of design – whether it’s an in-store campaign, an internal publication or a piece of packaging design – maintains the Selfridges brand values and creative reputation. It also means working closely with all areas of the business, including Buying and Merchandising, Internal Communications, property and visual merchandising; communicating design solutions at a senior level and building strong relationships in order to make our creative offering even better. And as you’ll be joining a company with a history of originality and innovation, you’ll certainly have an excellent foundation to build from.
About you
An experienced team manager with a strong, hands-on background in graphic design, you’ll have the organisational ability to manage and oversee a heavy workload and juggle several jobs at any one time – working to both a deadline and a budget. And as well as staying calm when the pressure’s on, you’ll have no problem communicating at all levels, both internally and externally. While you’ll naturally be a creative thinker, you’ll need the practical skills to back up your imagination and originality. So you must know your way around both PCs and Macs and have an advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Quark along with at least a basic understanding of PowerPoint. Please provide a summary Portfolio with your CV when applying for this role.
