A Secondary School in the Trafford area of Greater Manchester is looking to appoint a Maths teacher in September 2013 on a permanent basis. Due to the relocation of a current faculty member, the HOD is looking to appoint a passionate Maths teacher who can continue the Schools recent success at GCSE level.
Applications are welcome from both newly qualified and experienced Maths teachers who are confident of fitting in to this friendly and hard working department. The faculty leader has created an excellent working environment which has enabled staff and students to achieve their individual expectations.
This mixed Secondary School is located in Trafford, easily accessible to central Manchester and other surrounding areas. Local transport links such as bus or the Metro link service give staff and students an advantage and some pupils on roll travel from neighbouring authorities. There are around 1100 pupils on roll, 150 of them in the Schools newly built sixth form provision. The proportion of students with learning disabilities is around the national average, as is the number on roll who are eligible for free school meals.
The successful candidate will be responsible for pupil’s progression in both KS3 and KS4 and will ideally have a track record at GCSE. Pupil behavioural on the whole is good and Ofsted commented on the positive atmosphere in lessons which enable pupils to express themselves freely. In the 2012 examination results 81% of GCSE students achieved 5A*-C grades, showing the positive improvement made under the new leadership team.
Ideally the School are looking for a confident and outgoing Maths teacher, who will quickly settle in to the department and build relationships with both staff and students. With the Head teacher looking to appoint before the Easter break, you will need to apply for this position straight away.
If you would like to be considered, please send your CV through to Edustaff as soon as possible.
