HEAD OF DELIVERY MANAGEMENT (Projects and Engineering)

Our client is currently seeking a Head of Delivery Management to oversee the project management of the delivery of all Projects above £7m in value. The projects need to be safely delivered, to the required quality, to the approved schedule and to Cost Budget.

This is a great opportunity to join them at an exciting time of considerable change – Ideal candidates are likely to have worked within a SAP/ERP environment and have experience within one of the following fields/areas; project engineering, mechanical engineer, electrical engineering, petro chemical, power, pharmaceutical, process, Energy from Waste (EfW / WtE).  You may have shutdown experience, brownfield site development or working with/for an EPCM contractor. 

Duties include, but not limited to:

Provide direction and accountability for the safe delivery of Projects larger than £7m taking account of the business case for the investment.   
Ensure safety is actively managed and the CDM Regulations are properly applied to the works.   
Ensure the Quality of the Works is in line with the relevant Specifications and Drawings.
Provide clear oversight of the Programme Schedule and take appropriate action with the Delivery Managers and Contractors to preserve schedule and budget.   
Undertake oversight of Cost Management of the Programme against the agreed Budgets.
Ensure Risk and Opportunity Management is appropriately utilised on the Project.
Coordinate with Plant Operations, and Business Development, as required to meet overall business objectives.
Manage the team of Delivery Managers.
Skills / Experience:

Good knowledge and experience of the CDM Regulations
Up to date knowledge of best practices in accounting and financial management
Strong commercial knowledge of complex projects
Excellent understanding of UK Contractor market and industrial relations
Good understanding of Process OR Power Plant design and construction, including legislation
Proven experience of managing large process or power projects in excess of £300m
Strong and effective decision making and communication skills
Chartered Engineer
Current Driving Licence
