Perhaps you’ve been out of the workforce for a while and would like a subtle way to re-enter the corporate world. Or maybe you simply have some time on your hands and would like to spend it doing good for others. We are offering a voluntary unpaid opportunity for a part time bookkeeper on an ongoing basis.
Come and join us in our central London Headquarters for one day a week to help us maintain our financial records and ensure that all our accounts are accurately filed and prepared for annual audit.
Main duties will include:
- Recording all financial transactions
- Sales and purchase ledger maintenance
- Monthly payroll
- Weekly bank reconciliation
- Monthly balance reconciliations
- Cash flow forecasting
- Annual profit and loss (year-end close)
- Credit control and petty cash management
- Ad. hoc. reporting
Along with being scrupulous in all areas of accounting and reporting The successful applicant will have:
- Broad experience in using finance systems (i.e. QuickBooks, XERO, etc.)
- Advanced skills in using Excel for reporting and reconciliation
- Excellent self-control and mindset for quality assurance with attention to detail essential
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts
- Excellent analytical skills - an ability to review current processes and date, detect and correct errors
- The ability to be self starter and use their initiative
- Notable responsiveness and a “can-do” attitude
- The ability to be highly organised - proven ability to execute and manage projects and tasks, prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Good judgement - knowing when to escalate an issue combined with a willingness to be flexible
- A relevant qualification
Due to the nature of the role we are looking for a long term commitment of a year or longer. A high level of spoken and written English is required. We are looking for a happy, positive and outgoing person. Familiarity with standard computer programmes and email is essential.

Demonstrable appreciation of the differing roles of the statutory and voluntary sectors in this field must be complemented by a developed understanding of the need to adapt ways of working for each.
