Technical Architect / Mobile Strategic Architect - TOGAF, SOA
£40 - £48 p/h
6 Month Contract (possible extensions)

Description:
Mobile Strategic Architect operating within the Solution Architecture team. This position will provide a co-ordinating function to establish a Mobile Reference Architecture, including frameworks, recommended tools and approaches for B2C, B2D and potentially B2E mobile development.
As such co-ordination will be required between Solution Architects, Application Development and mobile SMEs globally, facing off to Enterprise Architecture /Information Management and Business IT teams.
Responsibilities will include:
. Develop a candidate Mobile Reference Architecture based on industry best practice and trends, within the parameters of technology standards and policy.
. Socialise the Reference Architecture with key stakeholders and SMEs, receiving feedback and clarification and treating these inputs appropriately.
. Pilot use of the Reference Architecture to ensure practicability.
. Work with the Technology Standards Processes to ensure a consistent set of compliant tools and products are available to implement the Reference Architecture.
. Version control architecture to provide a balance between flexibility and stability
. Work with SMEs and others to resolve conflicts or competing approaches and modify Reference Architecture if necessary.
Technical Skills (Must Have):
. Extensive experience in IT Architectural development and consulting, particularly within the mobile development space.
. Extensive commercial IT development experience across the full life-cycle, especially in design and development phases, and with experience of analysis and support
. Strong Solution Architecture experience including development of technical architecture documents
. Extensive knowledge of mobile development tools and approaches (e.g. adaptive design, mobile first, responsive design, progressive enhancement, MEAP)
. Strong written and verbal communication skills plus virtual collaboration skills for working within a global virtual team
. Experience in writing technical specifications for external partners (e.g. ISVs)
. Experience working in a large organisation
Technical Skills (Nice to Have): . Understanding of Object-Oriented software concepts
. Understanding of Service-Oriented software concepts
. Understanding Enterprise Architecture concepts (e.g. TOGAF and Zachman)
. Awareness of .Agile. development methods
