Purpose
Following on from a Personal Journey Planning project in July 2011 and delivery of a community re-engagement pilot project in 2012, a Community Engagement Officer is now required for a new Pershore Road, Bristol Road Travel Choices Legacy project. The Community Engagement Officer will be the public face of the project, lead on engagement with residents and community groups along the Pershore Road and Bristol Road corridors and be the conduit between the groups and a range of activity scheme providers.
The Officer will work in the field, liaising pro-actively with community groups and residents to: 1) understand the ways in which such groups can best be engaged; 2) help develop an activity programme for the participating groups; 3) attend and participate in promotional activities such as local events, community group meetings and business engagement; and 4) accurately record and monitor the participation levels and outcomes of engagement activities.
Accountabilities
· Support Steer Davies Gleave’s Project Manager and/ or Project Director with research and data gathering activities for community groups in the locality;
· Contact and liaise directly with residents and community groups;
· Liaise directly with activity/ referral scheme providers (walking, cycling, workwise and others as deemed relevant);
· Keep accurate records of all engagement with residents, community groups and events through a designated activity and contact log;
· Report on progress made to both the client and employer;
· Assist with events, mail-outs and other promotional work as required;
· Source relevant events and activities to attend; and
· Assist with other work as required by Centro’s Project Manager and Steer Davies Gleave’s Project Manager.
